The Garlic Press is made of 304 stainless steel with a solid 1" handle. It weighs approximately 1.5 pounds, and is designed to avoid flexing when used. It's hand-bent using a custom bending fixture. The handle is TIG welded and bead blasted for a bright matte finish.The Garlic Press can be purchased on its own (a la carte), or with a wood pressing board and removable pegboard. The pressing board is made of walnut and sealed with a beeswax finish. Walnut's low porosity makes it ideal for food-grade surfaces to avoid bacteria growth. The removable pegboard is designed to help get every bit of garlic out of the perforations of the Press. Align the holes and roll across the pegboard to remove excess garlic before cleaning.
